Hyderabad: Amid fear of the Omicron Covid-19 variant, the University of Hyderabad Task Force warned students from putting their guards down within the campus. In a Covid-19 advisory, the UoH stated that it cannot afford a super spreader event that will again affect academic and research activities.
“It is alarming that many stakeholders seem to have discontinued Covid-appropriate behaviour on the campus. Also alarming is that the campus seems to have returned to working as if during pre-Covid 19 times,” read the advisory.
The university advised all the students, teaching, and non-teaching staff to continue to follow Covid-19 appropriate behaviour within the campus. All the stakeholders were advised to avoid organising large gatherings and be extra vigilant. The university appealed to all stakeholders to get fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and consult the healthcare center in case of any symptoms or emergencies.
“The campus may be restrained by the state and central government authorities if we let our guard down. The university cannot afford a super spreader event that will again affect our academic and research activities,” stated the advisory.
