Prof. K. C. James Raju of UoH selected for Prestigious Abdul Kalam Technology Innovation National Fellowship 2021.
Hyderabad: Prof. K C James Raju, Centre for Advanced Studies in Electronics Science and Technology (CASEST), School of Physics, University of Hyderabad (UoH) has been selected for the prestigious Abdul Kalam Technology Innovation National Fellowship by the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE).
The fellowship was launched by INAE, Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science and Technology (DST) to recognize, encourage and support translational research by individuals working in engineering in public funded institutions.
The duration of the fellowship will be initially for three years, extendable by two more years. Prof. Raju will be receiving a research grant of Rs 15 lakh per annum for pursuing research and innovation. A monthly fellowship amount to the tune of Rs 25,000 per month is also made available, alongside an overhead of Rs one lakh per annum to the host institution.
Prof Raju, who obtained his Ph.D from IIT, Madras, has supervised 13 Ph.D students and 25 MTech students. He has published more than 150 papers in international journals and successfully completed about 15 funded research projects. He has to his credit granted patent one and decisions on three patent applications are pending.
