Mancherial: Pugmarks of two migrant tigers were spotted on the outskirts of Narsingapur in Bheemaram mandal and Velala village in Jaipur mandal on Tuesday, triggering panic among residents.
Villagers said they had seen pugmarks of a tiger moving along the edges of the two villages and asked Forest officials to divert the tiger and track its movement to prevent human casualties. They said they were living in fear and had stopped farm activities considering the tiger’s presence.
After receiving information, Forest officials inspected the spots frequented by the tiger. They measured the pugmarks and confirmed it was a tiger, advising villagers to remain cautious. Residents were told to move in groups and make noise while taking up agricultural work.
Officials said animal trackers had been deployed to monitor the movement of the tiger, while CCTV cameras were installed to capture visuals of the wild animal. They noted that the tiger was searching for suitable territory, having migrated from Maharashtra in search of forests by crossing Kumram Bheem Asifabad district.
