Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh High Court Legal Services Committee launched the Mission Legal Service programme on November 9. As part of the programme, Vellore Institute of Technology – Andhra Pradesh School of Law (VSL) has been selected to create legal awareness in the villages identified and adopted by the VIT-AP University.
VSL hosted an event at Inavolu village to create awareness about the justice system. Inaugurated by Justice Ramana Kumari, Secretary, AP High Court Legal Services Committee, the event was attended by several dignitaries, including Dr Chakka Benarji, Dean, VSL, Prof M Mahathi Faculty Coordinator, VSL Legal Aid Centre and Students, B Seshaiah, Senior Civil Judge, Mangalagiri and Chairperson Mandal Legal Services Authority.
Speaking on the occasion, Justice Ramana Kumari informed the participants about the importance of creating legal awareness to provide access to justice to the needy people. She emphasised on the role of students, lawyers, judges, social workers, district and mandal authorities in the society.
