Water released to Singur canals after crop holiday for two seasons
After a two-season crop holiday due to canal lining works, 100 cusecs of water was released into the Singur Left Bank Canal on Thursday. The move will benefit 40,000 acres of ayacut and facilitate paddy transplantation across the district.

Sangareddy: After two seasons of crop holiday for ayacut under Singur canals, Health Minister Damodara Rajanarasimha released 100 cusecs of water into Singur left bank canal on Thursday.
Since the irrigation department took up lining works on Singur canals during the last year, the government declared crop holidays for two consecutive seasons.
The project had 18.464 TMCft of water against its full capacity of 29.91 TMCft as of now. The reservoir had 40,000 acres of ayacut under the project. The release of water will boost the paddy transplantations across the district.
