Wheel failure in Hisar Express near Jammikunta; major accident averted

A major accident was narrowly avoided in Karimnagar when the Hisar Express was halted after one of its wheels fractured near Madipalli in the early hours of Thursday. No injuries were reported.

Karimnagar: A major train accident was averted after the Hisar Express was stopped soon after one of its wheels broke at Madipalli in the early hours of Thursday.

The incident occurred near Jammikunta railway station on the Kazipet–Balharshah route at around 2 am. Alerted railway authorities halted the Dakshin Express at Uppal railway station as a precautionary measure.

Railway authorities and passengers heaved a sigh of relief as nobody was injured in the incident. Railway officials are carrying out repair works on a war footing.
