Police suspect that on Tuesday, the couple had another heated argument, after which Rubina allegedly grabbed a boulder and bludgeoned Ahmed to death.
Hyderabad: The Jubilee Hills police, who are investigating the murder of Mohd Siddiq Ahmed (38), whose body was found partly stuffed into a refrigerator in his house at Karmikanagar here, have reportedly found leads indicating the involvement of Ahmed’s wife Rubina in the murder. A fight over financial issues is said to have led to the killing, they suspect.
Ahmed (38), a tailor, who lived in a rented house along with Rubina and their two children, had frequent fights with his wife over financial issues. Police suspect that on Tuesday, the couple had another heated argument, after which Rubina allegedly grabbed a boulder and bludgeoned Ahmed to death. She partly stuffed the body in the refrigerator and went to her parents’ house along with their children.
The murder came to light on Thursday, when the house owner grew suspicious as Ahmed had not come out of the house since the day Rubina left, and tried to call him over phone. With no response from Ahmed, he informed the police, who reached the house and forcibly opened the door and found the body.
Sources said Rubina was taken into custody, but the police are yet to confirm the arrest and are reportedly investigating if anyone else helped her to execute the murder. The police shifted the body to the Osmania General Hospital mortuary from where it was handed over to the family after autopsy on Friday.
