Hyderabad: Stating that he would continue in Congress party, Sangareddy MLA T Jagga Reddy said in case of any development, he would not switch loyalties to any party and would rather remain an independent.
“I will not discuss anything about my resignation or a word about the Congress party’s Political Affairs Committee meeting,” said Jagga Reddy at a press conference here on Thursday.
The MLA said he was seeking appointment with AICC chief Sonia Gandhi and senior leader Rahul Gandhi after Sankranti. “I have a few problems which I will take up with Sonia Gandhiji and Rahulji. After January 25 based on the situation, I will discuss all aspects,” he said.
Admitting that a few senior party leaders met him personally, the MLA said none in the party can direct him to shut his mouth. “The party doesn’t belong to TPCC president Revanth Reddy or me. It belongs to everyone,” said Jagga Reddy, adding he would stage a protest at Indira Park on Saturday with some people demanding regularisation of illegal structures under Gram Panchayats.
Meanwhile, CLP leader M Bhatti Vikramarka demanded stern action against the accused in the Ramakrishna familicide case in Paloncha, alleging that such incidents were occurring in Kothagudem on a regular basis.
“Congress has called for Kothagudem bandh in protest against the government failures. We will also meet Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan over this issue,” said Bhatti Vikramarka.
