New Delhi: BJP president JP Nadda on Monday hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 11 years in office, saying the work done by the government under his leadership should be written in “golden letters.”
Addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters here, Nadda said Prime Minister Modi changed the country’s political culture and ushered in an era of performance-driven politics and good governance by providing a responsible and accountable government. He contrasted this with the Congress-led UPA regime, which he said was marked by “corruption, scams, and appeasement” politics.
“The work done by the government under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership in the past 11 years has been extraordinary and should be written in golden letters,” he asserted.
Nadda slammed Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, over his recent remarks on Operation Sindoor and the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections, accusing him of acting like an “irresponsible” opposition leader by raising baseless questions.
“May God bless him with good sense,” the BJP chief said during the press conference when asked for a comment on the Congress leader’s statements.
In response to a question about the opposition raising concerns over the BJP-led government’s stability after the party lost its majority in the 2024 general elections, Nadda said the Modi government would not only complete its current term but also continue in the next.
The BJP chief said Prime Minister Modi provided a responsive and strong government, citing bold decisions such as the abrogation of Article 370, abolition of triple Talaq, Waqf Act amendments, demonetisation, and the women’s quota bill.
“Before 2014, the previous government was riddled with corruption, and a sense of negativity prevailed across the country. But after 2014, under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, that sentiment changed. Now, people proudly say, ‘Modi hai to mumkin hai’,” Nadda added.
Prime Minister Modi took oath for a third term on June 9, 2024. The Modi government marked its first anniversary of the third term and 11th overall on Monday.
