Hyderabad: Power House Taekwondo Academy in Nalanda Nagar conducted its first colour belt grading examination on March 9, which was presided by A Kishore Kumar, the vice-president, TTA, Chief Examiner and technical committee member of Telangana Taekwondo Association.
Attended by around 70 students, the participants were required to display their strength and endurance through tests in a variety of combinations in punches, kicks, attacks and defence skills.
The students were also tested in their skill set as per the World Taekwondo prescribed syllabus in Poomsae movements ranging between 16 to 24 combinations of various defensive and offensive techniques.
Typically, it’s a nine-stage journey from a beginner — White belt to Black Belt — and requires the student to have high levels of endurance and stamina clubbed with determination to take on physical challenges.
Speaking on the occasion, the founders of Power House Taekwondo Academy and national referees Aravind Nandyala and Suresh expressed their appreciation for all the participants, who displayed their skills and dedication and passed out in flying colours making it an eventful event.
