Actor Naresh says he was shocked by the remarks of Nagendra Babu
“I’ve been striving hard for the welfare of MAA; our family has been into it. And those who allege that no development has been taken place during Naresh’s term, they themselves should question it,” Naresh VK said.
Movie Aristes Association (MAA) president Naresh VK
Senior actor and Movie Aristes Association (MAA) president Naresh VK on Saturday said that his family had been working for the development of cinema actors. “I’ve been striving hard for the welfare of MAA; our family has been into it. And those who allege that no development has been taken place during Naresh’s term, they themselves should question it,” he said.
“I am not speaking now to narrate stories, nor am I here to blame opponents. We have come here with papers to put forth papers as to what sort of development has taken place in MAA over the years. It’s been a journey of six years. Our panel won the elections with the highest majority with the blessings of senior director late Dasari Narayana Rao. I’ve served in various capacities as Welfare Committee Chairman, Joint Secretary, General Secretary in MAA. When a voice came out saying I would never become the MAA president, we’ve seen the verdict of the people. With a proper vision and a view to not bring about division among the actors, we won the support in a democratic way. I was shocked by the remarks of Nagendra Babu when he said Movie Artistes Association was neglected over the past few years. Even after explaining the works on paper to Megastar Chiranjeevi and Nagababu, such remarks really hurt,” he added.
MAA president Naresh further said Prakash Raj has been a good friend to him. “When he called me a few months ago saying that he, too, would like to contest the MAA elections, I told him that any actor or character artiste who worked and acted in Telugu films can contest the polls. At the same time, I welcome Manchu Vishnu who has been feeding the hungry lot in the industry and he is someone who rolls out movies without eyeing the profits,” Naresh said.
Actor Siva Balaji and Jeevitha Rajasekhar were among the others who spoke to the media.
