Nizamabad: With Speaker G Prasad Kumar set to resume the hearing on the defection of MLAs on Friday, BRS turncoat MLA from Banswada, Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, on Thursday admitted that he had won the elections on the BRS party symbol.
“Technically, I will abide by the Speaker’s decision,” Srinivas Reddy told party workers while addressing them in Banswada.
The MLA defended his decision to join the Congress, saying he had met Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to seek support for the development of the Pocharam constituency. He alleged that a few political opponents were deliberately trying to defame him in the media and on social media.
Acknowledging that the KCR government had supported him earlier, Srinivas Reddy said the present Chief Minister had also assured his full cooperation.
“If you think I have taken any decisions for personal gain, slap me with footwear. I am in politics to serve the people. If you can prove that I have made any personal gains, I will resign right here (on the spot),” he declared.
