Nizamabad: Police officials are conducting re-verification of all the passports issued from 2016 to 2021 in Bodhan Revenue Division. During this period, more than 500 passports were issued and among them 72 were detected as fake passports and Rohingya migrants were alleged to have taken 32 passports.
For the last two days, nearly 40 passports have been dispatched to four house addresses in Bodhan town, but in the four addresses, only one genuine passport holder was found to be residing. By seeing the large number of passports being sent to the same address, the postal officials have returned these 40 passports to the Regional Passport Office in Hyderabad.
With matter being reported to the police, it was decided to conduct an inquiry again on total passports issued from 2016 to 2021. During this period, a Special Branch (SB) Police Sub-Inspector Malleshwar and head constable Anil had worked in Bodhan town and cleared the verification of these five hundred passports.
Among them 72 passports detected as fake passports, 19 Bangladesh persons were alleged to have obtained these passports and had left the country. Police is now searching for the remaining fake passport holders. Till now the police have arrested eight persons including two police officials, two Rohingyas, three Mee-Seva operators and a mediator haling from Bengal.
