Hyderabad: With Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) members raising slogans and insisting on a discussion on the atrocities against Lagacherla farmers in the House, Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar adjourned the Assembly to meet at 10 am on Tuesday.
Earlier, after a one week break, the proceedings commenced in the House on Monday afternoon for a discussion on the new Tourism policy.
As Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao tried to commence his speech on the tourism policy, the BRS MLAs holding placards, raised “Nahi Chalega Nahi Chalega Tanashahi nahi chalega” slogans.
The Speaker repeatedly appealed to the BRS MLAs to occupy their seats.
“I will give you the opportunity to speak, if you occupy your seats,” Prasad Kumar said, adding that Members could not raise slogans and exhibit placards in the House.
Intervening, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka found fault with the BRS members for disrupting the House.
Even as BRS members continued to raise slogans, the Speaker ordered the marshalls to take away placards from the BRS members and get to him.
As Marshalls were approaching the BRS members to snatch the placards, the BRS members moved towards the Speaker’s podium. Amidst the BRS sloganeering, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy arrived in the House.
Within minutes after the Chief Minister’s arrival, the Speaker adjourned the House to meet at 10 am on Tuesday.
