Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy on Thursday said the Union government has been gathering information about Rohingyas staying in different parts of the country including Hyderabad, and State governments will be informed about the future course of action once the Centre takes a decision.
“There are Rohingyas in Hyderabad and the State government in a written statement confirmed it. The Home Ministry has been seeking information from some parts of the country and is analysing information,” he said at a press conference here after the release of the BJP manifesto for GHMC elections. The Centre, he said, will take a decision on the future course of action to be taken by State governments at an appropriate time. “The Centre is also aware of the presence of Pakistanis in Hyderabad who have overstayed their visa,” he added.
Replying to a question on Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s statement that the Telangana government has credible information about certain forces trying to foment communal violence in the State, Kishan Reddy said the Chief Minister should explain from where he got that information. “The Chief Minister can’t just blame it on the opposition without justifying his comments. He can’t use that information for political gains,” he said.
On AIMIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi’s comments about razing of PV Gnana Bhoomi and NTR Ghat, the Union Minister said the Narasimha Rao memorial was built by the State government and no one has the right to touch the structure, including TRS or MIM. “Unfortunately, Chandrashekhar Rao hasn’t reacted on this issue. BJP respects both Narasimha Rao and NT Rama Rao. NTR worked with BJP. It is unfortunate to note that the Chief Minister hasn’t even condemned the controversial comments,” he said.
Kishan Reddy said the recent utterances of MIM leaders had brought out the unholy alliance between the TRS and MIM in the open. “Now people should ask TRS why they are still continuing with the “dostana” with MIM. Every week Asaduddin Owaisi visits Pragathi Bhavan to discuss politics with the Chief Minister,” Kishan Reddy said.
Countering the criticism of TRS that BJP was not raising any local issues pertaining to GHMC, Kishan Reddy said the 50 questions that TRS working president KT Rama Rao raised were all about national issues, while “we are talking about 2 BHK houses, drainage issue, cleansing of Hussain Sagar and Musi river cleaning,” he said.
