Hyderabad: Chinmaya Mission will celebrate its Amrit Mahotsav, marking 75 years of spiritual, educational, and social-service activities, with a special two-day programme at NTR Stadium on January 24 and 25. The celebrations will bring together devotees, students, youth, and the general public to honour the life and vision of Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda and the global work of Chinmaya Mission.
Swami Chinmayananda (1916–1993), a visionary spiritual master and founder of Chinmaya Mission, dedicated his life to bringing the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads to the common person.
Chinmaya Mission is today a global movement with 330 centres in 32 countries, presenting the timeless wisdom of Advaita Vedanta in a practical, contemporary manner. Its activities span jnana yajnas, study groups, Balavihar for children, Chinmaya Yuva Kendra for youth, satsangs for adults, and a wide range of institutions in education, rural development, healthcare, and culture. Swami Swaroopananda is the present Global Head of Chinmaya Mission and a direct disciple in the lineage of Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda.
Chinmaya Mission Hyderabad has, for several decades, been a vibrant hub of spiritual learning and cultural revival in the twin cities, said Chinmaya Mission, Greater Hyderabad, President Harish Kumar.
