Hyderabad: With the Telangana High Court deadline of September 30 inching closer and the Presidential assent for BC reservation bills pending, the State government has decided to seek legal opinion for implementing 42 per cent reservations for BCs in local body elections. It will approach legal and constitutional experts in Delhi.
The Ministers’ Committee, which met at Praja Bhavan on Sunday, discussed the implementation of 42 per cent reservation for Backward Classes (BCs) in local body elections. The Committee sought the opinion of Advocate General Sudarshan Reddy to ensure that the quota does not trigger legal hurdles.
