Hyderabad: A controversy has hit the National Testing Agency (NTA) with aspirants and experts flagging nine errors in the preliminary answer keys of the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main session II held on April 2, 3, 4, 7 and 8.
According to students from Kota, there were four errors in physics, three in chemistry and two in mathematics in answer keys, which were released on April 11. They described the errors as ‘outright factual errors’ and suggested dropping these questions from the entrance test.
Responding to the concerns raised by students and experts, the NTA said it always followed a transparent examination process, which allows candidates to view their recorded responses as soon as the provisional answer keys were released.
The NTA considers every challenge to the provisional answer key with utmost seriousness, it said, adding that the answer key challenge process is a key part of ensuring a fair and reliable system for all candidates besides removing any anomaly.
“As regards JEE (Main) Session-II, the answer keys uploaded are only provisional. The final answer keys have not been published so far for JEE (Main) Session-II. The score is determined by only the final answer key. Drawing conclusions based on the provisional answer keys is not desirable,” it added.
