Hyderabad: Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) has announced a roadmap to transform the civic body into the country’s best in waste management.
CMC Commissioner Dr. Srujana visited advanced waste processing facilities in Jeedimetla and Dundigal on Friday and examined the technologies in use and their operational efficiency, as part of efforts to transform the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation’s waste management system into one of the country’s best, most sustainable, and citizen-focused models, according to a press release.
The Commissioner visited the Construction and Demolition (C&D) waste processing plant in Jeedimetla, the integrated waste processing complex in Dundigal, Waste-to-Energy plant, the hazardous waste management centre, and e-waste recycling units. During the visit, she studied modern waste handling technologies, pollution control measures, resource recovery systems, and power generation processes.
“Cyberabad must move toward treating waste not merely as something to be discarded, but as a valuable resource. With future needs in mind, our goal is to study world-class technologies and implement the most suitable practices for the city,” she said.
