A library Week special assembly was oragnised for the students of class III and IV of Delhi Public School, Nacharam recently. It was after a long time that the students enjoyed the physical assembly activities, the school said adding that students were in excitement when they gathered for the first time in the atrium after reopening of school in physical mode.
Not to miss out on the entertainment for online students, the assembly was conducted in hybrid mode thus, enabling both, online and offline students, to be a part of the assembly. It may be worth mentioning that the young students maintained the Covid protocols amazingly during the assembly, which was well appreciated by the management and parents alike.
The assembly commenced with a prayer, new word and thought for the day. Sr. Headmistress K Sirisha highlighted the significance of having a library and motivated the students to foster a reading habit.
For a child, reading is the portal through which all other learning is made possible. Hence, students pledged their interest in reading by taking an oath. Later, the audience was swayed to the beat of an energetic dance that talked about never giving up reading.
Students portrayed the character of a sage, Akbar-Birbal, witch, fairy and superhero in a character walk. The programme concluded with a vote of gratitude.
The Library Week and assembly proved to be a fantastic learning opportunity for everyone. It not only entertained the students with a variety of activities, but it also reminded them that books are a man’s greatest friend!
