Jayashankar Bhupalpally: In a tragic incident, a youth committed suicide by hanging near the grave of his lover at Kudurupalli village of Mahadevpur mandal in the district on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Challa Mahesh Yadav (23) of the same village. Sources said that his lover died of illness on October 14, and he had slipped into depression since then. On Sunday, he went to the village outskirts where his lover (Githanjali) was buried and hanged himself from a tree near the place.
Before committing suicide, he changed his status on WhatsApp saying that he was leaving this world to meet his lover. He was working at the TSMDC check post on a contract basis. A pall of gloom descended on the village as the youth died on the day of Dasara festival.
