Kamareddy: BRS leader and former minister T. Harish Rao expressed outrage over the dire situation in Demikalan village of Tadwai mandal in Kamareddy district, where a severe outbreak of diarrhea left many hospitalised.
Attributing the outbreak to water contamination, Rao criticised the Congress-led government for its failure to address the crisis effectively. Taking to X, he highlighted the deaths of a father and son, who succumbed to the illness after consuming contaminated water.
He said that the situation in the village owed to the failure of the rural water supply department to provide clean drinking water and the Panchayat Raj Department to ensure proper sanitation. The Revenue Department too had faltered in implementing disaster management measures.
“The government has utterly failed to ensure safe drinking water and a clean environment for the people of villages,” Rao stated, condemning the administration’s overall negligence. The outbreak has caused widespread panic in Demikalan, with reports indicating that at least 25 villagers have been hospitalised due to severe vomiting and diarrhea.
He demanded that the government declare a medical emergency in the village and immediately set up medical camps to save lives. “The situation is raising concern and the government’s inaction is unacceptable. We urge swift action to protect the people,” Rao added.
