Hyderabad: Around 872 kg narcotic drugs seized in various cases were consigned to an incinerator by the Cyberabad Police here on Tuesday. The worth of the destroyed drugs was put at Rs 2,25,93,285.

The Drug Disposal Committee of the Cyberabad Police took up the exercise of destroying the narcotic drugs at the Common Bio-Medical Waste Treatment and Disposal facility of GJ Multiclave (India) at Edulapally village in Rangareddy district.

The seized drugs that were incinerated today included 845.28 kg of ganja, three ganja plants weighing 61 grams, 26.81 kg of ganja chocolates, 7.5 ml of hashish oil, 9.16 gm of MDMA and 502 gm of Alprazolam.

The destroyed narcotic drugs pertain to six types of Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and 37 cases registered across the five zones of Madhapur, Balanagar, Medchal, Rajendranagar, Shamshabad and 12 police stations in Cyberabad Police Commissionerate limits.

The Drug Disposal Committee is headed by its chairman DCP Crimes K. Narasimha, ACP Cyber Crimes Ravinder Reddy, CCRB ACP Kalinga Rao, Narcotics Inspector Shivaprasad and team.
