Students of grade VII of Pallavi Aware International School, Saroornagar organised an assembly on November 11 to mark National Education Day, the birth anniversary of India’s first Education Minister Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. Aaazmeen Afifa hosted the virtual session on behalf of students. While Anshu recited shlokas, another student read out thought for the day.
A student Deepika delivered a speech casting light on the contribution of Maulana Azad as India’s first Education Minister. She recalled the role of Maulana Azad in establishing various apex education institutions which are now potential houses of knowledge and are transforming the country in various sectors.
Maulana Azad had a great vision for India and emphasized that only education will change the destiny of the country, he opined. Students also presented two PowerPoint presentations one in Hindi and the other in English.
Principal Sudeshna Mairal in her address, spoke about the difference between literacy and education. She opined that education had the power to transform society and urged students to become change-makers.
