Lata Mangeshkar (92), the voice of generations of Indians and one of the biggest music icons of the country, died due to multiple organ failure, her sister Usha Mangeshkar and doctors treating her said.

Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar passed away on Sunday at the age of 92 years. The megastar had been admitted to Mumbai's Breach Candy hospital on January 8 after she was diagnosed with COVID-19 and pneumonia.

“In these 80 years, I have got immense love and blessings from the public. I believe that I will always keep getting your love and blessings,” Lata ji had added.

"She is no more. She died in the morning," Usha Mangeshkar, the singer's younger sister, told PTI.
