Hyderabad: The Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA), in an appeal to the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), expressed its concern over the prolonged uncertainty surrounding the NEET SS (Superspecialty) 2025 counselling process.
The association warned that repeated postponements are pushing thousands of super-specialty aspirants into financial and professional crises. According to the original schedule released by the National Medical Commission (NMC), the results for the second round of counselling were slated for April 7, with the new academic session beginning on April 10. However, ongoing legal proceedings in the Supreme Court, primarily involving service quota cases in Tamil Nadu, have stalled the process, FAIMA said in a letter to MCC.
The result declaration has been deferred multiple times from the initial deadline of April 7 to May 4 and now the release date has been further revised to July 28.
The national president for FAIMA, Dr Srinath Dubyala, said that the delay has left many doctors unemployed, who are now facing severe financial hardship. The FAIMA also highlighted the risk of a shortage of qualified specialists in super-specialty departments across the country.
