Ganesh idol immersion goes off peacefully in Telangana’s Bhainsa town
The immersion of Ganesh idols in Bhainsa town, often seen as a communal flashpoint, concluded peacefully on Thursday night. Heavy security, CCTV surveillance, and drone monitoring ensured order, while Hindu and Muslim community leaders jointly marked the event, reflecting harmony.

Nirmal: Immersion of Ganesh idols went off peacefully in Bhainsa town, known for communal conflict on Thursday night.
SP Dr Janaki Sharmila, who supervised security arrangements said that 600 policemen including two ASPs, 12 Inspectors and were deployed to prevent untoward incidents during the procession, while 120 CCTV cameras were installed and four drone cameras were flown along the route of the event to keep a tab on trouble makers. She stated that the event went off without any disturbance.
Mudhole MLA Ramarao Patel, Collector Abhilasha Abhinav, additional collector Fizan Ahmed, and Bhainsa ASP Avinash Kumar, Sub-Collector Ajmeera Saket Kumar and Utsava committee president P Kashinath performed special prayers at an idol of Ganesh placed in a temple to kick start the procession in the afternoon. Members of various religious organisations participated in the event which went on till midnight.
Security was stepped at Panjesha chowk known for communal conflicts. Sharmila and Avinash Kumar along with elders of Muslim community welcomed an idol installed since 1921, reflecting communal harmony. She termed the incident as a historical and testimony to communal harmony. It will remain etched in the history of Bhainsa town, she remarked.
The sleepy town has come alive with thousands of devotees taking part in the procession.
Around 190 idols were immersed at Gaddennavagu irrigation project located on the outskirts of the town with the help of a large crane by midnight. Expert divers were kept available at the spot to rescue devotees if they slipped into the project. Restrictions were imposed on traffic movement at important junctions.
