Hyderabad: Following multiple complaints about Pista House Restaurant outlets, the food safety wing of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) inspected 25 restaurants and collected 23 samples.
In a press release on Tuesday, the GHMC shared observations from the kitchen inspections, revealing unhygienic conditions such as patchy flooring and stagnant water in washing areas, uncovered dustbins, drains lacking traps to capture contaminants, poorly cleaned refrigerators, oily and unclean chimneys, and housefly infestations.
In the storage areas, some food items were found stored on the floor, food and non-food items were kept together, and records of temperature maintenance in cold rooms were not properly maintained.
