Hyderabad: Gitanjali Primary School celebrated the Telangana Language Day (Telangana Bhasha Dinosthavam) on 9th September to commemorate the birth anniversary of people’s poet Kaloji Narayana Rao.
Telangana has declared September 9 as “Telangana Language Day” on Kaloji’s 100th birth anniversary. Students dressed up in colourful, traditional attire as Krishna Devarayulu, and the poet himself, recited poems, sang songs and described the glory of the Telugu language.
They advised their friends and everyone else to respect their mother tongue while learning other languages. Kaloji Narayana Rao a prolific writer and poet in Telugu, Hindi, Marathi, and Urdu is credited for his activist writing and vocal support for the cause of Telangana, students noted as they paid tributes to the protagonist of Telangana.
