Godavari touches 43 feet mark at Bhadrachalam, first warning issued
The water level in the Godavari river at Bhadrachalam has crossed the first warning level due to heavy inflows from upstream dams, prompting officials to issue a warning. While most parts of Khammam and Kothagudem districts remained dry, several irrigation tanks in the region have surpassed their surplus levels.

Kothagudem: Officials issued the first warning as the water level in river Godavari at Bhadrachalam touched the first warning level due to heavy inflows from upstream dams.
At 7.22 pm, the water level reached 43 feet, the first warning level, with a discharge of 9.32 lakh cusecs; at 8 pm the river stood at 43.30 feet with a discharge of 11.44 lakh cusecs and was expected to rise further. District officials have advised residents along the riverbanks to remain cautious as the first warning was issued.
Meanwhile, most parts of Khammam and Kothagudem districts remained dry, except for a few mandals which recorded light to moderate rainfall on Friday. Of the 1,061 irrigation tanks in Khammam, 544 have reached surplus levels, while 275 are between 90 and 100 percent of their Full Tank Level (FTL).
