Karimnagar: BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar said on Wednesday that the State government was making all efforts to achieve a healthy Telangana. As part of this objective, Telangana diagnostic centers were established in all districts to help the poor who can’t afford expensive diagnostic tests, he said.
The Minister along with Manakondur MLA Rasamai Balkishan inaugurated Telangana diagnostic center in the district headquarters hospital here on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Kamalakar said previous governments had neglected the health sector. As a result, people faced severe hardship. However, the state government has taken steps to provide corporate level medical testing to the poor.
As part of it, Telangana diagnostic centers were established in all districts by spending 2 crore on each center. It required Rs 15 lakh for the maintenance of centers every month and the government would provide the amount.
Stating that diagnostic centers are a boon for the poor, he informed that 57 types of tests worth Rs 10,000 would be done free of cost.
Besides Karimnagar town, samples would be collected from 27 health centers by dividing them into three routes Jammikunta-Karimnagar, Huzurabad-Karimnagar and Gangadhara-Karimnagar.
Testing reports would be sent to health centers online, he said and appealed to the people to utilise the facility.
