Harish Rao vows to expose Congress scams when BRS regains power
Campaigning in Mancherial, senior BRS leader T. Harish Rao accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and the Congress of scams and irregularities, promising probes if the BRS regained power. He highlighted welfare measures implemented during the BRS’s tenure, including creation of Mancherial district.
Mancherial: Former Finance Minister and senior BRS leader T Harish Rao on Friday said alleged scams by the Congress and wrongdoing by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy would be exposed once the BRS returns to power.
Campaigning for BRS candidates in the municipal elections at Naspur, Bellampalli and Chennur, Harish Rao predicted that BRS supremo K. Chandrashekhar Rao would soon return as Chief Minister. He alleged that the present government was ruining the State, which he said was achieved after prolonged struggles.
He warned that the BRS would order probes into scams committed by the Congress and irregularities under Revanth Reddy’s leadership after assuming power.
“No one will be spared. Those found guilty will be sent to jail,” he cautioned.
Harish Rao accused Revanth Reddy of handing over the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) to his brother-in-law Srujan Reddy and his associates. He alleged that the Chief Minister was facilitating inflated contracts for overburden removal and other works. He claimed that tenders related to the Naini coal block were cancelled following protests by the BRS.
Targeting local MLA Premsagar Rao, Harish Rao alleged that the legislator had failed to fulfil election promises and betrayed public trust. He accused the MLA of collecting money from residents for construction of houses in Mancherial town and demolishing houses of those who refused to pay bribes.
Recalling the BRS government’s tenure, Harish Rao said K. Chandrashekhar Rao had created Mancherial district, sanctioned a medical college and implemented several welfare schemes during his 10-year rule. He cited the establishment of residential schools, enhancement of social security pensions and distribution of land titles to about 3,200 families for lands belonging to SCCL.
He further said that the former Chief Minister had revived dependent employment, enabling 15,600 family members to secure jobs with SCCL. BRS district president Balka Suman and former MLA Durgam Chinnaiah were present.
