Heavy inflows force release of water from Mid Manair Reservoir

Irrigation officials lifted six floodgates at Mid Manair Reservoir to release 19,715 cusecs of water against inflows of 25,300 cusecs, with storage reaching 17.82 tmc out of 27.55 tmc capacity

Rajanna-Sircilla: Irrigation officials released water from Mid Manair Reservoir by lifting floodgates on Saturday evening.

As the project has been receiving heavy inflows, authorities discharged water by lifting six gates. While the inflow stood at 25,300 cusecs, 19,715 cusecs were discharged.


The reservoir is receiving 3,150 cusecs from Sripada Yellampalli, 16,365 cusecs from SRSP, and 5,785 cusecs from Manair, Mulavagu, and the Flood Flow Canal.

Currently, 17.82 tmc of water is available in MMR against its storage capacity of 27.55 tmc.
