Heavy inflows prompt flood alert in Hyderabad; Osman Sagar, Himayat Sagar and Hussain Sagar water levels rise

Hyderabad: Heavy inflows into Hussain Sagar and the twin reservoirs, Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar, have prompted alerts for low-lying areas from early Friday.
The HMWSSB and the GHMC urged residents to remain vigilant and follow instructions issued periodically. The HMWSSB is currently operating four floodgates, two each at Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar, releasing surplus water into the River Musi. Consequently, areas along the River Musi have been alerted by local revenue authorities.
Police officials are closely monitoring the situation at ORR following the release of water from the twin reservoirs, as well as at the Moosarambagh bridge.
