HMDA begins work on modern goshala at Yenkapally
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy laid the foundation for a Rs 157 crore modern goshala at Yenkapally in Moinabad. Developed by HMDA on 99 acres, the facility will house 1,000 cows and include solar power, biogas plants, and veterinary infrastructure.

Hyderabad: A modern goshala is set to come up at Yenkapally in Moinabad of Ranga Reddy district, with the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) on Saturday commencing the works at an estimated cost of Rs 157 crore. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy laid the foundation for the goshala.
In a press release, the HMDA said the goshala is aimed at creating a model facility, combining traditional values with scientific standards for animal health, environmental sustainability, cultural enrichment, and public engagement.
The HMDA allotted 99.14 acres of government land at Yenkapally to shelter a minimum of 1,000 cows along with all the required related facilities like a veterinary hospital and isolation wards.
Highlights of the Goshala include installation of a solar plant of 3 MW capacity and a biogas plant, 10 modern cow sheds (100 cows each), quarantine facility for newly admitted cattle and an emergency care unit, a fully equipped veterinary hospital with OPD, sewerage treatment plant, temple complex for Go-puja and cultural activities, it said.
Upon completion, the entire developed facility will be handed over to the Animal Husbandry department for operation and maintenance, it added.
