Making a smuggler a hero in the film sends out a wrong message in society. When questioned, you might say that you would show the good part for a few minutes in the climax or somewhere in next part 2
Hyderabad: The story of a red sander smuggler in ‘Pushpa:The Rise’ seems to haven’t gone well with public speaker and Padma Shri award recipient Garikapati Narasimha Rao. A short video of him questioning the motive behind making films like ‘Pushpa’ projecting a red sander smuggler as a hero, went viral on social media.
He raised objections over films that have come showing thieves, rowdies as onscreen heroes. “Making a smuggler a hero in the film sends out a wrong message in society. When questioned, you might say that you would show the good part for a few minutes in the climax or somewhere in next part 2, the damage will be already done to the society by the time you come up with a good-intentional story part,” he added. He further sought an explanation from star Allu Arjun and director Sukumar for glorifying a smuggler as a hero.
He sarcastically explained how the dialogue in the movie ‘Thaggede Le’ has become an adage proverb. “A smuggler says it ‘Thaggade Le. Youth are getting influenced by it. I am angry because it is influencing society in a very bad way. I want an explanation from the hero or the director. Who has to say Thaggade Le? Someone like King Harishchandra or Lord Srirama should use the word Thaggede Le, how can a smuggler say it?” he questioned.
