CRPF jawans escape death after vehicle catches fire in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: A serious road accident resembling the recent Kurnool bus mishap was reported on Thursday night at the Charlapalli industrial area.
A speeding bike, while reportedly attempting to avoid a DCM vehicle, collided with it and got trapped under its rear wheels, leading to a fire after petrol leaked from the bike’s tank.
Within moments, both the DCM and the motorcycle were engulfed in huge flames.
According to the police, around ten CRPF personnel were travelling in the DCM from Hakimpet to Charlapalli Railway Station at the time of the incident.
As the vehicle approached the Charlapalli electricity substation, the bike driven by Karan Kumar Paswan of Bihar tried to overtake and avoid the DCM but got stuck between an oncoming vehicle and the heavy vehicle.
He fell under the rear wheels and was dragged a short distance, causing petrol leakage and triggering the blaze.
Alert CRPF personnel immediately jumped out of the vehicle. On receiving information, firefighters along with fire engines reached the spot and doused the flames.
The bike rider suffered injuries, while another person riding pillion managed to escape unharmed and fled the spot.
Charlapalli Police have registered a case and are investigating.
