Hyderabad: At the moment, one of the key actions to be taken by all collectively is to spread awareness about the ongoing pandemic with an emphasis on the preventive measures to be taken against the virus. Coming forward to do his bit in this direction is the city-based artist Swami Vadla.
On Saturday, Swami was seen at Khairatabad junction working on a street art emphasising the importance of staying at home to beat the coronavirus. Done with vibrant colours on the road, the art depicts an angry-looking coronavirus warning people to stay at home.
“We were asked to do this mural on the street by Panjagutta police. A team of eight artists started this at 10 am and finished by late afternoon,” says Swami, who has been a professional artist for the last four decades. The team led by him used waterproof emulsion for spreading the message so that it won’t fade away. “We also ensured it is vibrant and easily seen by everyone passing by. We hope people stay safe,” he says.
Swami, who has expertise in painting wall murals, cutouts, banners and more, has been running Sudha Arts in Quthbullapur since the age of 15.
“I started painting in school and after my 10th, started painting as a profession. My father is a skilled carpenter and his work also got me interested in pursuing this and after discontinuing my studies after passing 10th, I have been doing this,” explains Swamy.
Apart from this one, they also plan on doing similar street art at Jubilee Hills checkpost and other major junctions in the city in the next few days.
