Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Cybercrime Police on Wednesday arrested a YouTuber for alleged offences relating to the creation, uploading and circulation of child sexual abuse content through social media platforms.
The suspect, identified as K Satya Murthy from Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, runs a YouTube channel named “Viral Hub” (@ViralHub007), wherein objectionable and child-abusive content was uploaded and circulated. The content consisted of interviews conducted with minors.
According to cybercrime officials, the aired content consisted of interviews conducted with minors, during which the accused deliberately posed obscene, sexually explicit and vulgar questions.
“In one such video, the accused induced two minors to kiss each other, amounting to sexual exploitation of children. The videos also contained sexually explicit language and indecent behaviour, thereby grossly violating child protection and cyber laws,” officials said, adding that the minors featured in the videos were approximately 15 to 17 years of age.
Following one such video aired in October 2025, the Cybercrime Police registered a suo motu case and nabbed him.
Satya Murthy has been a YouTuber since 2018 and initially conducted interviews with social media influencers using vulgar language to attract viewership and earn revenue.
Subsequently, to increase views and monetisation, he escalated his activities by targeting minors, conducting interviews using obscene and sexually explicit language and uploading such content on social media platforms, officials said.
Authorities requested citizens to report any instance of child abuse content or cybercrime to the nearest police station or Cybercrime unit.
Complaints can also be lodged through the Cybercrime Helpline No. 1930 or via www.cybercrime.gov.in.
