Hyderabad: Early Bird scheme hits record collection in CMC, property tax rises 16 percent
Cyberabad Municipal Corporation recorded a significant rise in property tax collection under the Early Bird scheme, with a 16 percent increase over last year. Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation also reported higher collections, reflecting improved revenue performance.

Hyderabad: The Early Bird scheme for property tax (PT) collection for the current financial year 2026-27 in the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) recorded a notable increase.
In a press release, Commissioner of Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) G Srijana said the rise represents an increase of Rs 70.48 crore, registering a growth of approximately 16 percent over the previous year’s Early Bird scheme collection. Property tax collection this year reached Rs 510.33 crore compared with Rs 439.85 crore in the previous year.
CMC officials attributed the highest property tax collection this year to receipts from Miyapur and Ameenpur in the Serilingampally zone, Madhapur in the Kukatpally zone, and Kompally and Jeedimetla in the Quthbullapur zone.
Property tax collections rise to Rs 260.23 crore in MMC
Meanwhile, the Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation earned Rs 260.23 crore in property tax revenue through its Early Bird scheme in the current financial year.
Commissioner of Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC) T Vinay Krishna Reddy said that in the last year (2025-2026), Rs 240.23 crore was collected through the scheme, while this year (2026-2027), Rs 260.23 crore was collected.
He said Rs 20.06 crore more was collected this year compared to last year, and collections increased by approximately 8.34 percent compared to the previous year.
