Hyderabad: A production manager working in Telugu films was caught by Rachakonda Anti-Human Trafficking Unit on charges of running an online interstate flesh trade racket, at Saroornagar here on Tuesday. One woman, a victim of the racket, was rescued.
Police said B.Sudheer (30), a resident of Ayyappa Society and native of Sathupally in Khammam, advertised on a dating app by uploading pictures of women and solicited customers. He carried transactions only through e-wallets to avoid being traced.
Sudheer, who earned Rs.500 per day as a production manager, collected sums ranging from Rs 2,000 to Rs 10,000 from customers, police said, adding that he was operating the business for the last six months. Following a tip-off, the police in a decoy operation busted the racket and arrested him.
