Hyderabad: Major violations at two drinking water units, licenses suspended
Due to the severity of the violations, the license of Sri Sai Ganesh Enterprises, Boligudem, Boduppal, which packages drinking water (Kenbey brand) and also manufactures milk products including Khoa, will be suspended as per the provisions of the FSS Act, 2006, authorities said.

Hyderabad: The inspecting teams of the Commissioner of Food Safety have reported major violations under Food Safety and Standards Act (FSSAI) at two drinking water packaging units including S R Enterprises at Chengicherla and Sri Sai Ganesh at Boduppal, during recent inspections.
Due to the severity of the violations, the license of Sri Sai Ganesh Enterprises, Boligudem, Boduppal, which packages drinking water (Kenbey brand) and also manufactures milk products including Khoa, will be suspended as per the provisions of the FSS Act, 2006, authorities said.
At S R Enterprises, which packages water for top brands, the inspecting teams detected a lizard in the water filtration room near the tank, the entire floor was slippery and water got stagnated at the manufacturing area. The food handlers were not wearing head caps, gloves and aprons and the pest control records were not available. The medical fitness certificates of the staff were available but without date.
The internal quality control laboratory at S R Enterprises was not in working condition, external laboratory records were also not available. The doors were not closely fitted with insect proof screens, there was a gap between walls and stocks were not maintained. The sealing of caps of bottles was being checked without gloves in unhygienic condition and the FSSAI license was not available for transport vehicles.
At Sri Sai Ganesh Enterprises, Boligudem, Boduppal, the Kenbey brand 2 liter bottles were found labelled with expired license. A total of 16 cartons of Kenbey packaged drinking water (2L) bottles and 15 cartons of 250ml bottles were unlabelled and were seized.
The manufacturing area of the milk products was highly unhygienic and houseflies were observed. The inspecting teams detected 38 kilograms of Ajmer Kalakhand without any labels and discarded it. They also collected samples and sent them for laboratory analysis.
There were no pest control records and medical fitness certificates and FoSTaC training certificates of the food handlers were not available. The water analysis reports were not available and no internal and external quality analysis reports were made available. The doors were found open without insect proof screens. The Food handlers did not have head caps, gloves and aprons while the laboratory was not in functional condition, the inspecting teams reported.
