Adilabad: Internal bickering continues to haunt the Congress party even six months after the Parliament polls.

A recent meeting attended by TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud and AICC Telangana in-charge Deepadas Munshi exposed in-fighting among the leaders. Khanapur MLA Vedma Bojju expressed displeasure for some finding fault with him for the defeat of the party’s nominee in Parliament polls. The meeting was held to review the reasons for the party’s failure in the elections held in May.

Bojju asserted that some persons were unnecessarily blaming him for the failure of the party. He regretted that certain leaders were leaking the affairs of the party, resulting in the publication of news reports against him. He warned that he would take action against those who were holding him responsible for the defeat of the candidate of the party in the polls.

Erstwhile Adilabad district in-charge Minister Seethakka, who was also attending the meeting, remarked that a leader should be inclusive. She advised that leaders must work in tandem with others. Else, groupism would be inevitable. Though she did not point out a leader, her statement sparked a debate among the leaders who were perplexed as to whom she might have targeted.

Cadres of the Congress saw the internal bickering as an unwelcoming sign ahead of the impending civic polls. They said that the review meeting would help the party prepare for the elections, but it turned out to be an event to vent out differences among the leaders. They feared the infight might adversely impact the outcome of the polls.

Meanwhile, legislators of the party raised objections to Indiramma Committees formed in villages and towns by Seethakka. They said that their opinions were not considered while constituting the committees. It was learnt that Seethakka unilaterally formed the committees meant for implementing the housing scheme.
