Jagadish Reddy confident of KCR’s return, slams Congress over Kaleshwaram report
BRS MLA G Jagadish Reddy criticised the Congress and BJP over the Kaleshwaram project report, calling it politically motivated. He defended KCR and accused the government of deception. A clash also broke out between Congress and BRS workers at Atmakur
Suryapet: BRS MLA and former minister G Jagadish Reddy on Wednesday exuded confidence that BRS chief K Chandrashekhar Rao would return to power and ensure water from the Kaleshwaram project reaches farmers.
Addressing the media here, Reddy sharply criticised the Congress party and the Bharatiya Janata Party over their handling of the Kaleshwaram project report and the Congress-led BC dharna in Delhi.
Reddy dismissed the Kaleshwaram Commission report as a “list of accusations” fabricated by Congress and BJP, rather than a legitimate inquiry.
“The report is a Congress creation, designed to suppress the truth and weave their own narrative,” he said, describing the Kaleshwaram project as the “lifeline of Telangana” and accusing the Congress government of orchestrating a smear campaign against KCR under the direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
The BRS MLA claimed that the Congress was engaging in “deceptive propaganda” with the Kaleshwaram report to tarnish KCR’s image and mislead the public. He further alleged that the government was undermining the project to favour Banakacharla, hinting at ulterior motives.
Reddy vowed that the BRS would confront the government in the Telangana Legislative Assembly to expose these “conspiracies”. Reacting to rumours of possible arrests in the aftermath of the Commission report, Reddy dismissed them as “petty tactics” by Congress to intimidate BRS leaders ahead of local elections.
“We are not afraid of such threats,” he said.
