Hyderabad: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind’s Markazi Taleemi Board (Education Board) voiced its concern over the new government order that makes prior approval mandatory for government bodies before hosting an online event or a seminar.
Nusrat Ali, Chairman of Markazi Taleemi, raised his objection against the government circular that asks all government entities, including PSUs, public universities and institutions run by the central and state governments to seek prior approval from the central government for organising any virtual conference, seminar, training session, etc, and said, “This order is an open curb on the basic freedom and it will hamper access to education and growth. This will also lead to a decline in academic progress.”
He emphasised on the National Education Policy – 2020 and said, “The policy aims at making India a world leader in the field of education but a move like this one undermines our country’s credibility and research process.” He demanded the government to reconsider this order and asked the government to avoid politicisation and bureaucratic control of universities.
