Peddapalli: Karimnagar Milk Producer Company Limited, one of the leading milk producing units in the state, is contemplating to enter into the selling of petroleum products. Dairy authorities have decided to open a petrol filling station on the dairy premises in Karimnagar town in collaboration with HPCL very soon.

Inaugurating Karimangar Dairy’s fifth retail fertilizer shop in Suddala of Sultanabad mandal on Thursday, Dairy chairman Ch Rajeshwara Rao informed that they were planning to enter into the selling of petroleum products and open a petrol filling station on dairy premises very soon.

The petrol filling station would meet the requirement of dairy vehicles as well as the local customers by providing quality petroleum products, he added. Talking about selling of fertilizers to the milk producers, he said they had started selling the fertilizers only to benefit the milk producing farmers to secure the fertilizers at their doorstep at lesser prices when compared to the market price.

The retail fertilizers shops would instill confidence among the farmers about the availability of fertilizers even during the peak season, he opined. Dairy had launched the selling of fertilizers to the milk producers from the MPI centres during the last kharif season by tying up with the Indian Farmers’ Fertilizer’s Cooperative Limited (IFFCO).

Initially, they had started the retail fertilizers sales from Malkapet village and later extended the facilities in Kothagattu, Vilassagar and Eglaspur villages. Besides, 10 other MPIs have also collected the licenses for selling the fertilizers in their respective villages after completion of godowns. Managing director, P Shankar Reddy said that there would not be any shortage of fertilizers to the milk producing farmers of dairy as the required quantity of fertilizers would be made available in the stores well in advance.

The profits earned through the sale of fertilizers and the petroleum products would go to the milk producers only, he maintained.
