KTPS worker killed in power plant accident in Kothagudem
The worker, M Subba Rao (46), died when a nitrogen cylinder exploded and struck him while he was on duty at the unit 9 turbine.
Kothagudem: An artisan, working in the ninth unit of the fifth phase of Kothagudem Thermal Power Station (KTPS) power plant at Paloncha in the district, died in a workplace-related accident on Friday.
The worker, M Subba Rao (46), died when a nitrogen cylinder exploded and struck him while he was on duty at the unit 9 turbine. The incident occurred when the overhauling of the plant was going on after stopping the power production.
KTPS 5th and 6th phase Chief Engineer M Prabhakar ordered an inquiry into the accident. Based on a complaint lodged by him, Paloncha town police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
