KTR consoles kin of Saudi bus accident victims in Hyderabad
BRS working president KT Rama Rao visited families of over 40 Telangana residents who died in a Saudi bus accident, assuring support, and also felicitated Padma Shri educationist Chukka Ramaiah on his 100th birthday, praising his contributions to quality education and IIT aspirants.

Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Thursday visited relatives of those who lost their lives in the recent bus tragedy in Saudi Arabia and assured them that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi would stand by the bereaved families.
The accident, which occurred on November 17 in Saudi Arabia, claimed the lives of over 40 people from Telangana, mostly from Hyderabad.
Rama Rao visited the families of the victims in areas such as Adikmet, Ramnagar and Vidyanagar. Speaking afterwards, he expressed deep sorrow over the incident, stating that the death of nearly 45 Telangana residents in the accident was heartbreaking, especially the loss of 18 members from a single family.
Stating that some family members of the victims had travelled to Saudi Arabia, with a BRS team also sent there to extend full support, he said the party delegation was coordinating with embassy officials in Saudi Arabia to ensure all possible assistance.
KTR meets academician Chukka Ramaiah
Rama Rao also visited the residence of educationist Padma Shri Chukka Ramaiah in Vidya Nagar and personally conveyed wishes on the occasion of his 100th birthday.
Speaking on the occasion, he showered praise on Ramaiah, describing him as the first name that comes to mind when one thinks of IIT, the guiding force behind the very concept of quality education, and an eternal source of inspiration for selfless service. The services rendered by Ramaiah to the field of education were immense, he said, pointing out that he was the reason thousands of students, especially from rural backgrounds, had reached prestigious institutions like the IITs.
In both Telugu States, a number of IIT graduates who are now settled across the globe owe their success to Ramaiah, he said, adding that beyond being an educator, Ramaiah had played the role of a political compass and guiding light during the Telangana movement.
“Celebrating the 100th birthday of such a great personality is truly inspiring for all of us. I pray that Ramaiah garu remains healthy and lives a long life,” he added.
Senior BRS leaders including former minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, MLA Kaleru Venkatesh and Mutha Gopal were present. The leaders honoured Ramaiah by draping a shawl around him and extended warm birthday greetings.
