Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao has demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi to initiate a central investigation into the massive financial and environmental fraud involving the mortgage of Kancha Gachibowli land. He urged the Prime Minister to act swiftly to uphold accountability and transparency.
In a post on X, Rama Rao welcomed Modi’s recent remarks expressing concern on the destruction of the Kancha Gachibowli forest. However, he hoped that it is not just lip service. He said the devastation was not only an environmental catastrophe affecting over 100 acres of forest but also a Rs 10,000 crore financial fraud perpetrated by the Congress government in Telangana.
“We have already alerted central agencies like CVC, CBI, SFIO, SEBI and RBI, in this regard,” he stated, urging the Central government to take the matter seriously and expedite the investigation.
The BRS working president cited the report of the Supreme Court-appointed Central Empowered Committee (CEC), which, confirmed financial impropriety and recommended a thorough investigation involving Central agencies. He pointed out that with cities choking, environmental protection is paramount.
“Also equally important is exposing politicians like Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy who brazenly and shamelessly bulldoze systems,” he posted. He wanted the Prime Minister to prove that BJP and Congress are not colluding, and he truly cares about environmental protection and accountability.
Takes dig at Revanth
BRS working president KT Rama Rao took a dig at Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, raising doubts over the latter’s absence during the Congress party’s protests against the Enforcement Directorate cases against party leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. “Am I the only who finds this odd?” he wondered in a post on X. He questioned Revanth Reddy’s deafening silence on the National Herald case against the Gandhis, when other Congress leaders took to the streets protesting against it.
