Hyderabad: Residents of Madhu Park Ridge at Bandlaguda Jagir on Friday held a protest condemning the state government’s attempts to displace them under the pretext of the Gandhi Sarovar Project.
The residents who gathered for the protest in their apartment premises maintained that they were firm on not vacating their homes and said they were geared up to resist the government’s efforts to remove them and take over the place.
According to the land acquisition notification for the Gandhi Sarovar Project, over 450 flats in Blocks A and B in Madhu Park Ridge (MPR) would be affected. The residents, including senior citizens, women and children, held a peaceful protest against the Congress government’s proposal for the Gandhi Sarovar Project, with around 100 people taking part.
The protesters raised slogans seeking justice and demanded that the government not continue to harass them over their properties. Children also joined the protest, and some of them spoke with ‘Telangana Today’ and said, “We are urging Revanth Reddy uncle not to disturb our homes as we will lose continuity in our education”.
